Neve Daniel was established on July 18, 1982, on the site of the former Cohen Farm, which was founded in 1935. The farm was abandoned during the Arab riots and remained under Jordanian control until 1967. The community is named after the Nabi Daniel Convoy, a supply convoy ambushed in 1948 near Bethlehem.
