Niran, established on June 18, 1971, began as a Nahal military outpost in the Jordan Valley near Jericho. In 1977, it transitioned into a civilian kibbutz. The community was initially named Niran, after the biblical city of Naaran, and was renamed Na'aran in 2018. Over the years, it has developed agricultural ventures, including date groves and olive cultivation, and operates a plastics factory producing packaging materials.
