Hinanit was established in 1981 by Mountain Jews from the Caucasus region. Initially founded as a moshav affiliated with the Moshavim Movement, it later transitioned into a community settlement. Situated just across the Green Line in the northern West Bank's Jenin Governorate, Hinanit lies approximately 15 kilometers west of Jenin city. Over the years, the community has developed into a well-established settlement under the jurisdiction of the Shomron Regional Council.
